When used, a character will then have the option of changing into a variety of classes. Like the Master Seal, Seconds Seals are restricted to units Level 10 and up for a Base Class, but unlike the Master Seal, which cannot be used by an advanced class, a Second Seal can be used at any level by an Advanced Class. Second Seals are less straightforward than Master Seals. That way they get the benefit of those extra levels, and you get the benefit of a stronger unit. Instead, keep your units in their Starter Class until they reach their level cap, and then use a Master Seal. Since the level cap for most classes is Level 20, classing up too soon is essentially wasting a ton of potential stat growths, and can leave your units at a disadvantage later in the game, when the enemy units become stronger and more difficult. That being said, it's generally a bad idea to use a Master Seal the second a unit hits Level 10. Advanced Class units even at lower levels are considerably more powerful than Starter Class units. The Advanced Class they can change into varies depending on what Starter Class they begin as. Master Seals are used to promote to a higher class, while Second Seals are used to simply change class.Īfter a Starter Class unit reaches Level 10, they'll be able to use a Master Seal to change classes. You can change classes via two methods in Fire Emblem: Awakening: Master Seals and Second Seals.
